ESV Bible App Reviews

Ive used this app for about 9 months. I listen to the bible as I commute to/from work. A couple of times there have been pauses I between versus, but not very often. Yesterday (8/30/16) the pauses occur about every 3-5 versus and last 30-60 seconds. This renders this app impractical to use. Please fix, because otherwise this is a great app.

When hitting the play button the app will occasionally scroll all the way to the end of Revelation. I have been able to change the scripture but it still does it. Nothing will stop it. Not pause, "done", nothing. Sometimes, I can close the app and reopen but that does not work most of the time. I submitted a note to the support but the only response was " hate it for you, will notify the techies" (obviously paraphrased ). It is so annoying I may simply delete the app.

By far the best Bible app Ive found! Love it!

I have been using the ESV version since it was first published. I really like this translation,so when the app came out I started using it. I find the search and cross reference features helpful. I also like the ability to take notes and be able to reference them from the web version, also.

I love its rich resources; its diagrams, charts, illustrations, maps, etc. The customer service is superb! I definitely recommend it!

Clean and elegant. Simple and easy to read. Love the highlights and bookmark features, audio is definitely a plus!

This app has many very informative and useful features. You can go as deep into Gods Word as you like. Thank you Developers!

Okay, I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app and it will not connect to Facebook or the internet. I keep getting errors, 404, wondering if the app is supported any longer. I cannot edit my profile or save notes. It doesnt seem to be prepared for iOS 10! Moving on to other apps!

Easy to use and makes my Bible reading experience better

I used to use this Bible app almost exclusively, but the lack of support for some iOS 9 features for iPads (like side by side apps) is going to lead me to use other Bible apps. Update: still no updates to take advantages of new features in iOS 9 or 10. I guess they stopped development on it?

Love the app, but the Chronological One-Year Reading Plan is stuck on February 29! There was no passage to read that day, so the reading plan keeps opening to that day every day! It was no big deal to scroll to the current day in March and April, but now that we are almost in October, it is getting old! Can that bug be fixed?

This is a well thought-through app! Im pleasantly surprised how polished it is and how well it works. The features are great! The audio with the text following along! Love it! I can tell there was some time and effort put into the developing of this app! Excellent! Keep it up!

I have used this app for a few years and love it, especially that I can listen as well as read, but since Apple upgraded their operating system, the app will not open and that makes me sad.

Beautiful and elegant app. Simple, useful and a pleasure to use. Love that footnotes open right there on the page and dont send you to another page. Brilliant thinking.

Unfortunately the watch app crashes and loads incredibly slow despite being in the new app tray.

Has everything I expect from a Bible (or any book) app. Notes, elegant browse and search, history, favorites and more. Every time Ive thought, man, itd be nice if this app had this, there it was! Other pros include audio reading and multiple daily bible reading plans.

What a treasure trove this app is. To have full access to the study notes is amazing. I have a hard copy of the Study Bible and absolutely love it. But since it is so big it normally stays on my desk. Now I can have the notes wherever I am. This is wonderful and the interface still seems as fluid as ever. Great job Crossway!

This is an awesome app. I use this to read my bible everyday.

An excellent app for this translation. It is smartly designed, has a great UX & UI, and the look is classy. This puts a lot of power at your finger tips. It might not have every single little thing that Bible readers may want, but it has so much going for it that if you read the ESV (and even if you dont or dont yet) you owe to yourself to try it for a while. Fantastic.

Basic functions are good but lots of features are not as intuitive as in the older version.
