Best Bible Ever

My only complaint: when you highlight a version, a menu comes up with only icons, and no text to explain which icons do what. Besides one of them that is obvious, you have to trial and error guess which icon does what. Frustrating, but not a deal breaker.

I love this translation & the app is beautifully made.

There are many Bible apps, all are surely useful to some extent, but I find the ESV Bible App to exceedingly useful. It is void of advertising (one of the few places on earth or online), clear t read and simple to use. The emphasis is simply the Word of God to man, where Jesus is proclaimed as the Messiah, yet there are other useful study helps, search engines, and daily Bible reading plans. I find it beautiful, elegant even: here in the Bible the Spirit of God speaks to the world through the Word, and the simple, quality layout emphasizes what the Spirit does - Gods words.

I find it very difficult to locate specific verses since they are no longer numbered. Disappointed in this version update. I will no longer use it on a regular basis -- no longer my all-time favorite.

I like the app but Im not able to sign in. I want to load the study bible which Ive already purchased but cant. I would also like to sync my highlights and notes with the iPad app. Please look into this and update the app. Thanks.

Crossway has done an outstanding job making the ESV easily accessible. The ESV app is very easy to use and the Study Bible integration is excellent. Keep up the good work!

One of the worst apps for referencing and searching maneuverability through the Bible. Very disappointing.

This is a pretty good app, easy to use and very minimalistic. I like its simplicity, though it could stand to add a few things. In particular, it would be helpful if there was a bookmark for going back to a passage. Usually I go by a reading plan, and once in a while I want to look up a verse reference, at which point I would need to go to my reading history and track down the passage that I was at before. A bookmark function seems pretty basic and should be part of the app. Another feature that would be cool to have is the ability to control the app through CarPlay, as I like to listen to the Bible in my morning commute. This isnt a big deal, but would be nice to see in a future release. All in all, its a great app and I love it!

I love the cross reference makes it ease to run a thread of scripture,when preparing a massage. Will you add commentaries in the future.

Great app and one of my favorite bible apps but it really needs more font options. Love the audio feature and the integration of the ESV Study Bible. Great overall design too (clean and simple) and almost at the level of NueBible.

Love the translation, however the app is not at all intuitive, very disappointing & frustrating. (Using an updated iPhone 6) still cant find the table of contents, still cant show a book (ie Exodus) and see how many chapters there are. Took a long time to figure out how to highlight a verse. (Weeks, until I finally stumbled on it by mistake.) The Help section didnt make sense, so it was useless for me. Plz make it somewhat intuitive! At least allow the books of the Bible to be viewed in a list, and then be able to tap a book (ie Exodus) to show the number of chapters in that book. Used to be able to do that, however that function seems to have disappeared, sadly.

I like using the daily office lectionary for my morning devotional, but the date (e.g., 1 March) and the day of the week (e.g., Tues) are off by two days. It has been off by one day for several months but leap year made it 2 days off. Pls fix. Thank you.

Look up Matthew 17:21. It goes from verse 20 skips 21 continues 22. Why????

I love the audio listener and the option to read the bible in a year. Though a daily quote would be really great. This app has strengthened my relationship with Jesus!:))

The ESV app is awesome. I like the spilt screen mode. I like being able to switch between the ESV study Bible notes, the Gospel Transformation study Bible notes and the Global study Bible. Ive following the Daily Reading Bible plan for about six months. The app provides a super handy way for me to stay in the Word morning to evening. Ive found reading the notes from the Gospel transformation study Bible helpful in bridging familiar Old Testament passages to Christ. Recently, I had some trouble with the app, I called Crossway. I was helped immediately and got the problem resolved.

User friendly with intelligent design, helpful study features and great reading plans.

This is, by far, the best Bible app you could ever get. 10/10.

I love how the app looks and the functionality of the reading plans and the audio playback. The app is really stable and easy to use.
